Friendship Club is an extraordinary club. In Friendship Club there is so much fun to be had from bubbles to movies to fun crafts! Each Wednesday meetings are held for students to come in and meet new friends. Students will pair up together and make crafts. “The crafts are so much fun and we get to do them with new friends.” states Kate Hoyne. Once a month there is a party with pizza and movies, students will talk to friends and watch the movie. Students hang out with Special Educated students and help them with tasks that may be hard for them to do on their own. What do students like the most about friendship club? “It is so much fun to hang out with my friends,” Olivia stated. Cheyenne said, “I like to visit and hang out with my friends while doing fun activities.” Leah Frka mentioned that she,” enjoys eating with friends and helping others make crafts.” Eating lunch with friends is so much fun, every week students learn more about each other. Marauders enjoy going to friendship cub every week and hanging out with new friends.

The Friendship Foundation was founded in 2005. the reason behind their idea to create this foundation was to pair students with special needs and students who want to volunteer and help others. This program has been shared through out many schools in our district and across the country. This idea helps include students who might not be recognized throughout our campus. “I enjoy getting to help other students, while getting to know them in the process!” Katin Sarner states.  Mrs. Larson explained how important the club is to the school, “I like how it is open to everyone on campus and interacts students with disabilities and student who want to help their peers!”

Participating Mauraders include students who may not be included in everyday school activities. Rachel Post says, “I like how it makes people understand that our friends from Friendship Club aren’t that different. My favorite part of the whole club is the parties, the crafts and how inviting they are.” Friendship club includes students who are sometimes not included. Come and join in on all the fun to be had Wednesdays during lunch!
